A jacket with a straight cut, a high collar, and decorative cord fastenings. Piped seams and patch pockets give it shape while keeping it light and comfortable. Today it works as an extra layer, suitable for both smart and relaxed indoor settings.
At Jaulhac, Eugène Le Moult’s country house, jackets in the Hussar style were worn at evening gatherings with scientists and cultural guests. During the Second World War, when Paris was occupied, Jaulhac served as a refuge for his butterfly collection and as a place for small social evenings. The jacket’s military details echoed European tradition while fitting the calm, informal atmosphere of country salons.

EUGÈNE LE MOULT (31 December 1882, Quimper – 26 January 1965, Paris) was as famous for hunting butterflies as he was for his custom-made wardrobe. He had these clothes tailored for himself to wear on the ocean-liner to South America, and when hunting and sleeping in the jungle.
