Short-sleeved pyjama top with piped edges and small buttons paired with cropped drawstring trousers. Reduced length increases ventilation; coverage remains modest. Useful in warm interiors and for travel where drying time is short. In French Guiana the format matched journeys along forest roads, keeping weight low and comfort high after sudden showers.
Léopold Le Moult (1856–1926), École des Ponts et Chaussées graduate, advanced early organic agriculture research and funded it by directing road construction in French Guiana. Tracks and early roads required repeated maintenance after rain. Later, parts of these routes connected to infrastructure serving space launches at Kourou. Garments that dried fast and allowed movement were practical for such travel.
